You Don't Drive

you don't drive

There's somewhere you can't live, you said
Because you don't drive
But I would drive you anywhere,
Tucked and warm in my car,
After feeding you what's too rich for the gods,
And replenishing your eternal library,
I'd take you across the world, never sleeping ,
Singing to you and stroking your hair in dream ,
We'd ride off the edge of the canyon,
Like Thelma and Louise
But we wouldn't die
We'd soar into infinity
Holding hands, eyes locked,
Obscure poetry on our lips ,
Joyful forever,
As we flew
To the ends of the earth
And the boundless lands of love
